About Sage Naturopathic Medicine

Dr Molly Jarchow is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Midwife who specializes in whole person medicine for women and children.  Dr Molly no longer attends births but continues to offer adjunct holistic prenatal and postpartum care for women under the care of another midwife or obstetrician. Dr Molly has her general naturopathic practice for women and children in Santa Monica 2 days per week and offers primary care pediatrics with Dr Edmond Sarraf 3 days per week.  Dr Molly’s care is rooted in relationships with her patients, taking the time to listen to their stories and understand them so she can provide individualized care with natural treatments.  She enjoys helping her patients connect with their own inner sage to restore health and happiness.

Dr. Molly Jarchow graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA where she completed a 5 year intensive medical program in Naturopathic Medicine and Midwifery, including 3 years of supervised clinical practice. She chose to become a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Midwife because of her passion for providing holistic healthcare for women and children- the kind of healthcare she sought out for herself.

Dr. Molly’s love for natural medicine started during her undergraduate years at The Evergreen State College where she worked in the Student Health Center as a medical assistant.  After finishing her B.A. and B.S., she completed a six month herbal apprenticeship living and working at Heartsong Farm before starting her formal naturopathic training at Bastyr.  Learning about herbal medicine by growing and harvesting the plants created a special connection with the medicine, one that is still alive for Dr Molly today as she blends teas, tinctures and flower essences in her office.

Dr Molly discovered midwifery while reading Ina May Gaskin’s book “Spiritual Midwifery” when she was 18 years old and knew she wanted to be a midwife.  She started attending births in 2005 while studying at Maternidad La Luz Midwifery School on the U.S./Mexico border and continued attending home and birth center births during her training in Seattle.  She completed her midwifery training in Vanuatu, a small island nation in the South Pacific, at the main hospital in Port Vila.  After graduating from Bastyr in 2010, she attended home and birth center births in Los Angeles with The Sanctuary midwives and Dr Stu, and co-founded LA Midwife Collective in 2014.  Dr Molly has attended nearly 400 births, supporting women from around the world and in multiple languages.

Dr Molly continues to expand and refine her ability to support women throughout the life cycle by completing the Arvigo Therapy training, a Holistic Nutrition coaching program, and the Perfect Fertility mentorship.  At the heart of her practice, Dr Molly most enjoys supporting women on the physical and emotional levels so they can move into a healthier state of being and balance.  In addition to supporting women, Dr Molly is excited to be joining pediatrician Dr Edmond Sarraf to expand her ability to care for children with naturopathic medicine.

Outside the office you can find Dr Molly exploring LA on her bike, hiking in the hills, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
